While it’s currently below freezing here in Iowa (once the sun is up a bit it will warm up), it looks like our first stop in the UK will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s during the days, and temperatures dropping to the 30s overnight. Cloudy or partly sunny seem to be the watchword and chance of showers most days. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for good photography (like the shot of York Minster below, taken in the early evening) and have your fingers crossed for a week from today. We are hiking from the Yorkshire village of Helmsley out to Rievaulx Abbey and back along the Cleveland Way. We don’t want too much mud. . .
